Symbiosis Series by Citrine LaCroix was showcased on Mackinaw Island the summer of 2021, ArtPrize during Autumn 2021, then again in completion at the Village Arts Factory in Canton January- February 2022. Currently, Six paintings from the series displayed at Crain Communications in Downtown Detroit November 2022 through February 2023.

These 'Aquadelic' paintings depict Sea Kelp also known as Laminariales. These paintings are far from perfect but they are the opening of my heart to the medium of painting and an extension of my healing energy to the world. As well as a reflection of my love for this planet and gratitude for all this earth contributes to my life – our lives.

Symbiosis is a series meant to create a calming, soothing, relaxing environment through color and shape. To inspire a glimmer of hope with the sparkles of glitter. Give us the confidence to simply be ourselves in a world full of chaos and relate to the kelp, ever growing upward toward the sun, to thrive through the waves, currents, and crashes.

This series of paintings has affirmed my ability to be calm, cool and collected, even when it feels like everything is burning. In a time when everyone and everything is too connected through technology these ocean growths make me feel grounded and connected to the earth in a way that I feel connected to other humans. Through nature and plant life. The Symbiosis Series invites you to a place underwater where we can explore a new environment and discover something extraordinary in the bounty of the ordinary.
